THE POLYTECHNIC IRESI MATRICULATES ND, HND STUDENTS

The Polytechnic Iresi, Osun State, a fastest growing private Polytechnic in Nigeria, held her 9th Matriculation ceremony for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) fresh students of the Institution on Thursday, 27th April 2023.

The event, which was held at the John Oladiran Oladimeji Auditorium of the Institution was graced with the attendance of some important dignitaries both from the Polytechnic, and the Iresi community in entirety.

The representative of the Rector during the matriculation ceremony, Mr. Sanni Lasisi Omotayo, who is the Ag. Registrar of the higher citadel of learning, congratulated the new students and their parents for witnessing such a great occasion.

In a speech at the ceremony, the Rector warned the matriculants that the Institution has zero tolerance for all forms of social vices, such as cultism, gun-running, examination malpractice, alcoholism, unhealthy social gatherings, cyber-crimes, incitement to violence, gangsterism, misuse and destruction of school properties, theft and indecent dressing.

While warning that indiscipline, poor academic performance, unruly behavior and insubordination are highly forbidden in the Institution, the Rector said the Polytechnic will not award its certificate to students who are deficient in character and in learning.

“This ceremony is the beginning of another phase in your development process, and that process would not be fully realized without your cooperation and comportment. As you matriculate today, I urge you to face your studies and shun all forms of vices that could mar your education.” The Rector said

The Oluresi of Iresi, Oba Sikiru Adeseun Ibiloye Odumirin II, ably represented by High Chief Awodiya Sina, in his remark, gives kudos to the Polytechnic management for impartment the students with both academic and moral knowledge. Furthermore, he lauded the effort of the security personnel for maintaining law and orderliness on campus. The king also impelled the students of the Institution to shun any acts that can terminate their studentship.

Prior to the matriculation ceremony, a two-day orientation programme was held for the fresh students on Tuesday and Wednesday 25th and 26th of April, respectively. The orientation programme which marks the formal commencement of their academic pursuit was organized to keep them abreast of the information required to succeed as students of the Polytechnic which also acquainted them with the Institution’s mission, objectives, core values, rules and regulations.

Speaking to TPI Press Crew, some of the new students expressed their joy. Alao Ayomikun of the Mass Communication department said, “It’s actually a thing of joy.  I have been looking forward to witnessing today. It was a success, and I give glory to God.”

Yusuf Micheal who studies Accountancy said, “I am very happy to be matriculated into the school, and am very sure one day, which is in the next two years, I will witness the convocation as well.”

THE POLYTECHNIC IRESI NOT INFERIOR TO ANY POLYTECHNIC IN NIGERIA: NBTE

 


A team of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) led by the Director of Polytechnic programmes, Arc Ngbede Ogoh, visited the Polytechnic Iresi for resource inspection of the new departments that are ready to commence academic programmes at both ND and HND levels. The inspection which took place on 13th and 14th of September 2022 was yet another impeccable milestone for the Polytechnic Iresi, the fastest growing private Polytechnic in Nigeria.

In his remark, Arc. Ogoh affirmed that the Polytechnic Iresi is not inferior to any Polytechnic in Nigeria. “The NBTE recognises your institution the same way we recognise other federal and state institutions in the country. The Director further proclaimed that the Polytechnic Iresi is the second established community Polytechnic in the whole southwest Nigeria after Igbaja Polytechnic, but has become the first in terms of human resources and facilities.

The Rector of the Polytechnic Iresi, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin in his opening address showered encomium on Iresi Community for their unquantifiable contributions towards the growth and development of the Polytechnic.  According to the Rector, “All achievements would not have come to be if not for the unending support of the well-meaning sons of the soil. The enthusiasm and the zeal for the development of this Institution from the Iresi Community is unquantifiable”.


In the same vein, The Chairman, Governing Council of the Polytechnic, Prof. Omolayo Ajayi added that the unity and cooperation in Iresi Community have triggered the incredible growth and development the Polytechnic has witnessed over the years. While compelling the NBTE team, the Council Chairman urged the team to also use their influence to assist the Polytechnic in appealing to the government and other meaningful stakeholders with good motorable road network. Prof. Ajayi noted that poor condition of the roads withing the community and its environs has been one of the challenges facing the Polytechnic, and if fixed, it will further lead to more development of the Polytechnic as there will be easy access for commuters and visitors of the higher citadel of learning.

Ventures Park to Partner with The Polytechnic Iresi In IT Capacity Building

Ventures Park, an Industrial Training (IT) establishment is set to partner with the Polytechnic Iresi in IT capacity building with their international project tagged “Operation No Yahoo”.

The project was initiated to correct the stereotype labelled against the black race, especially Nigerians, for fraudulent activities like cyber-crime in other to amass ill-gotten wealth. The project is specifically brought to the Polytechnic Iresi to change the focus and orientations of the students on how to be gainfully and self-employed, by equipping them with job creation, self-reliance and entrepreneurial skills without indulging in illegal activities.

The Founder, Ventures Park, Mr. Kola Aina, ably represented by the General Manager, Mr. Jayeola Okuwazun, during his presentation noted that Ventures Park has shown its commitment to the development of Nigerian education through its partnership programme with the Polytechnic Iresi, Osun State. This partnership will give students of the Institution opportunity to go on creative and innovative Industrial Training with the company free of charge.

In addition, Mr. Kola noted that the trainees will be taught the rudiments of technology that will enhance their knowledge through practical exposure and capacity building. He further stated that, if the trainees are found to have distinguished themselves based on competence and potentials, they would be absolved into the main stream of the company’s workforce.

“We are passionate about the Nigerian youths. Their aspirations and dreams are of basic concern to us in achieving a better future for them. It is in line with this, that we have designed this programme to reach and meet their needs of helping to make Nigeria better”, the Founder said. Hence, he urged the Management of the higher citadel of learning to support the project, so as to benefit not only the student’s, but the Iresi community in entirety. 

The facilitator of the initiative, The Asiwaju of Iresi Land, Chief (Dr.) Oluwole Oludaisi Aina in his remarks, appreciated the Management of the Polytechnic Iresi for their meritorious and selfless services rendered towards building the students of the Institution for better tomorrow and the community at large. He further commended the efforts of the Press Crew of the Institution and urged them to keep the flag flying. The Asiwaju, in his statement, made it known that the proposed project is the effort of his son, while he is serving as the interface between the Polytechnic Iresi and the Ventures Park Company. Dr. Oluwole therefore prayed that the proposed partnership be successful and beneficial to the Institution and the community as a whole.

In his remark, The Rector of the Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin, on behalf of the Management of the Institution, equally appreciated the Asiwaju of Iresi for facilitating the initiative. In the same vein, The Rector showered encomium on the organization team, especially the pioneer and innovator of Ventures Park, Mr. Kola Aina for considering the Polytechnic Iresi and its community as one of the beneficiaries of the Industrial Training.

Also present in the meeting were the Registrar, Mr. Sanni Lasisi Omotayo, Bursar, Deacon John Adejumo, Dean Students Affairs, Mrs. Grace Taiwo Odejide, Librarian, Mr. Odebunmi Adelekan Daniel, the Head of Public Relations and Protocol Units, Mr. Salaudeen Abdullahi, as well as the HODs of Computer Science and Computer Engineering, Mr. Adesina Abdulrazaq and Engr. Olawale Adeolu Johnson respectively.

She therefore urged the students of the higher citadel of learning to make use of the opportunity efficiently and effectively so as to become a better person in the society at large.

THE POLYTECHNIC IRESI HOLDS 8TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY

The Polytechnic Iresi, Osun State, a fastest growing private Polytechnic in Nigeria, held a matriculation ceremony for fresh students of the Institution on Thursday, 21st April, 2022.

The event, the 8th matriculation ceremony of the higher citadel of learning, was held at the John Oladiran Oladimeji Auditorium of the Polytechnic.

 At the event, the Rector of the Institution, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin, FNSE, congratulated the new students and their parents for witness
ing such a great occasion.

 He impelled the students to "ever go up, and never come down" and advised them to be diligent and industrious in their academic pursuit.

 "I hope to see you all in the next two years for your convocation ceremony. Avoid all negative behaviours and be focused," the Rector urged the students.

POLY IRESI MANAGEMENT HELD CRUCIAL MEETING WITH ACADEMIC, NON-ACADEMIC STAFF

The Management of the Polytechnic Iresi, Osun State, on 29th of March, 2022 held an official meeting at the Institution's conference room.

The meeting, which was presided by the Rector of the Institution, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE, had both the Academic and Non-Academic Staff members of the Polytechnic in attendance, was the first of its kind since the Rector assumed office.


Salient issues like staff attitudes towards work, punctuality and respect for the Principal Officers of the Institution were thoroughly discussed while the staff pledged unanimous consensus to move the Institution forward.

Furthermore, during the meeting, a seven-man committee which had both the Academic and Non-Academic staff members of the citadel of learning was constituted to meet the king, Oluresi of Iresi, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Adeseun Ibiloye Odumirin II to discuss issues related to the welfare of the students, the growth and development of the Polytechnic and Iresi community in entirety.

Consequently, the entire staff were keep abreast on the forthcoming accreditation of the Institution. In the same vein, the Rector impelled both the Academic and Non-Academic staff members to work assiduously towards the achievement of the accreditation success.

THE POLYTECHNIC IRESI STUDENT EMERGES TOP FIVE IN NIEEE ESSAY COMPETITION

A student of Department of Computer Engineering, the Polytechnic Iresi, Kamarudeen Fathiu Abiodun, has emerged the 5th position at the just concluded Essay Competition organized by the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE), Osogbo Chapter.

The essay contest hosted by NIEEE titled “Challenges and Solutions to Power System in Nigeria”, is an effort to harness the energy, creativity and initiative of Engineering Students of Tertiary Institutions in Osun State on the challenges of electrical power system in Nigeria, and the way forward.

According to Engr. Aiyedun Idowu Olasunkanmi MNSE, NIEEE Publicity Secretary, the essay competition is part of the programme, Investiture of the 4th Osogbo Branch Chairman of NIEEE, Engr. Dr. Dauda Adekunle Folarin, MNSE.

The competition which was in four stages includes: registration and submission of the essay writing, selection of best twelve candidates, selection of best seven candidates and lastly, selection of best five candidates.

Kamarudeen Fathiu Abiodun scaled through the rigorous four stages and ultimately emerged the 5th position in the demanding competition. Remarkably, the Polytechnic Iresi happens to be the only private Institution to reach the stage in the essay contest.

However, students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife emerged 1st and 2nd positions in the competition, while Bowen University and Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke students came 3rd and 4th positions respectively.

THE POLYTECHNIC IRESI SET TO HOLD ORIENTATION AND MATRICULATION PROGRAMME FOR FRESHERS

TPI PRESS CREW

The Management of the Polytechnic Iresi has announced a 3-day orientation and matriculation programmes for the newly admitted students of 2021/2022 session, which was slated for 19th to 21st of April, 2022.

This was made known in an internal memorandum released by the Institution Registrar, Mr. Sanni Lasisi Omotayo on the 22nd of March, 2022. The Registrar categorically made it known in the memo that the first two days of the date, 19th and 20th of April, 2022 have been scheduled for the orientation Programme while the matriculation ceremony will take place on the third day, 21st of April, 2022.

In addition, John Oladiran Oladimeji Auditorium of the Institution was stated as the venue of the programmes, while all programmes will commence by 9:00am daily.

The Registrar therefore enjoined all the concerned students to complete their necessary payment as students who have not completed their payment will not be matriculated.
