The Polytechnic Iresi, Osun State, a fastest growing private Polytechnic in Nigeria, held her 9th Matriculation ceremony for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) fresh students of the Institution on Thursday, 27th April 2023.
The event, which was held at the John Oladiran Oladimeji Auditorium of the Institution was graced with the attendance of some important dignitaries both from the Polytechnic, and the Iresi community in entirety.

The representative of the Rector during the matriculation ceremony, Mr. Sanni Lasisi Omotayo, who is the Ag. Registrar of the higher citadel of learning, congratulated the new students and their parents for witnessing such a great occasion.
In a speech at the ceremony, the Rector warned the matriculants that the Institution has zero tolerance for all forms of social vices, such as cultism, gun-running, examination malpractice, alcoholism, unhealthy social gatherings, cyber-crimes, incitement to violence, gangsterism, misuse and destruction of school properties, theft and indecent dressing.
While warning that indiscipline, poor academic performance, unruly behavior and insubordination are highly forbidden in the Institution, the Rector said the Polytechnic will not award its certificate to students who are deficient in character and in learning.
“This ceremony is the beginning of another phase in your development process, and that process would not be fully realized without your cooperation and comportment. As you matriculate today, I urge you to face your studies and shun all forms of vices that could mar your education.” The Rector said

The Oluresi of Iresi, Oba Sikiru Adeseun Ibiloye Odumirin II, ably represented by High Chief Awodiya Sina, in his remark, gives kudos to the Polytechnic management for impartment the students with both academic and moral knowledge. Furthermore, he lauded the effort of the security personnel for maintaining law and orderliness on campus. The king also impelled the students of the Institution to shun any acts that can terminate their studentship.
Prior to the matriculation ceremony, a two-day orientation programme was held for the fresh students on Tuesday and Wednesday 25th and 26th of April, respectively. The orientation programme which marks the formal commencement of their academic pursuit was organized to keep them abreast of the information required to succeed as students of the Polytechnic which also acquainted them with the Institution’s mission, objectives, core values, rules and regulations.
Speaking to TPI Press Crew, some of the new students expressed their joy. Alao Ayomikun of the Mass Communication department said, “It’s actually a thing of joy. I have been looking forward to witnessing today. It was a success, and I give glory to God.”
Yusuf Micheal who studies Accountancy said, “I am very happy to be matriculated into the school, and am very sure one day, which is in the next two years, I will witness the convocation as well.”
