THE POLYTECHNIC IRESI DRAMA, MUSIC AND DANCING SOCIETY (TPI DMDS) PRESENT ITS FIRST VIDEO

The Polytechnic Iresi Drama, Music and Dancing Society (DMDS) presents its first video shoot of their song titled "Nigeria Unity".

The glamorous display was graced with the attendance of the Institution Ag. Rector, Engr. Dr. Kamoru Oluwatoyin Kadiri FNSE, the Register, Mr. Sanni Lasisi Omotayo, the Bursar, Mr. Adejumo John, the Dean, School of Management Studies, Mr. Odejide Olusola Stephen, DMDS Coordinator, Mr. Salaudeen Abdullahi and the host students.

The atmosphere was filled with captivating ecstatic as the DMDS crew showcased their talents with melodious songs and different dance moves.

The Rector, Engr. Kadiri, in an interview with TPI Press showered DMDS with encomiums and impelled them to keep the flag flying. In his words, “I laud the efforts of DMDS for a great display today, I am very entertained and satisfied, I urge them not to stop but to keep up with the good work”.

Similarly, the Registrar, Mr. Sanni and the Bursar, Mr. John praised the crew for their impressive display and give kudos to them for a job well done.

In the same vein, the Rector and Registrar also accoladed the DMDS Coordinator, Mr. Salaudeen Abdullahi for his outstanding feat in making students execute their talents and enjoined him do more in his quest to unveiling the best from students.

CALL FOR THE POLYTECHNIC IRESI SCHOOL ANTHEM

The Management of the Polytechnic Iresi under the leadership of the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kamoru Oluwatoyin Kadiri FNSE, who is known for his creative and innovative exponent, impel the students of the Institution to compose a befitting School Anthem for the Institution.

The contents of the Anthem shall includes:

> Name of the Institution

> Year of establishment

> Motto

> Location

> Mission and vision of the Institution

> Philosophy of the Institution

After critical and thorough appraisal of all submissions, student that comes up with the best composition will duly be rewarded by the management of the Institution.

Submission ends by 11th November, 2021.

THE NEW RECTOR OF THE POLYTECHNIC IRESI PAID HOMAGE TO OLURESI OF IRESI


The new Rector of the Polyethnic Iresi, Engr. Dr. Kamoru Oluwatoyin Kadiri FNSE together with the new Bursar of the Institution, Mr. Adejumo John and the Ag. Head, Public Relations and Protocols Unit Mr. Salaudeen Abdullahi Ishola as well as other management of the Institution today, 26th October, 2021 paid an homage to Oluresi of Iresi, HRH Oba Sikiru Adeseun Ibiloye, Odunmirin II. The visitation came as a need to unveil the new Ag. Rector of the Institution to the King and to solicit for maximum support and cooperation from the King on the Rector’s quest to take the Institution to a higher and greater level.

Speaking at the Oluresi Palace, the Ag. Rector, Engr. Dr. Kamoru Oluwatoyin Kadiri, showered his unlimited appreciation to the King, the Institution’s Governing Council and the Iresi Community at large for the opportunity given to him to serve as the Rector of the Institution while he also expressed his joy for meeting the King.

Engr. Kadiri beckoned on the King for maximum support and total cooperation towards the development and growth of the institution in his tenure. The Rector prayed that the King live long and he wished him a prosperous tenure on the throne and in the same vein, he vowed that the King and the Community at large won’t regret the opportunity given to him to serve as the Rector of the Polytechnic Iresi. Engr. Kadiri reiterated on the development of the school and the Community at large. He unveiled some of his long-term plan for the uplifting of the institution which include creation of school farm, establishment of the Polytechnic table water factory among others. He added that he awaits the approval of the Governing Council on the introduction of NCE, PCCJ and Degree Programmes to the Institution. All these, according to the Rector will benefit not only institution but the Iresi Community in entirety.

The new Bursar of the Polytechnic, Mr. Adejumo John stressed that the visitation is as a result of the need for the Rector and him to meet the King and other essential stakeholders in other to work harmoniously for the progress of the Polytechnic Iresi. Mr. John lauded the King for his fatherly and supportive roles on the institution so far.

The Oluresi of Iresi, HRH Oba Sikiru Adeseun Ibiloye Odunmirin II displayed his excitement has he warmly welcomed the Rector and his entourage to the palace. He extolled the effort of the management of the Institution and appreciated them. He showered kudos to the new Rector for his great and meritorious services even before his appointment as the school rector. “I have read a lot about you and your prodigious achievement before your appointment and I am excited upon hearing the confirmation of your appointment as the Rector of our Polytechnic,” said the King. The King therefore promised to support the Institution in all ramifications

Furthermore, Oluresi enjoined and charged the Rector to resuscitate the school. Oba Sikiru pledged his total support for the Rector in other to actualize all his plan for the growth and development of the Institution.

Speaking during the visitation, Chief Gbadebo Arigbolo (Oloye Obanla), who is also a member of the Governing Council appealed to the Rector and the entire management to be united and shun any act of “double standard” in running the affairs of the institution.

In an interview with TPI Press Crew, HRH Oba Sikiru said, “I thank the Almighty God for this joyous occasion as the Institution got the first Rector to pay an homage to the palace. He (the Rector) has already demonstrated that he is a true son of the soil for paying homage to the King, and I pray may God in his infinite mercy makes him succeed in his time as the head of the Institution”

The visitation yielded a fruitful result as the Rector pleaded to the King on behalf of the school management on the need to repair the road that lead to the school campus. The King, in his response to the Rector’s plea vowed to take immediate action and to contact the necessary authority to put the road in good shape.

MEET THE POLYMATHIC GIANT, THE NEW RECTOR OF THE POLYTECHNIC IRESI

The Polytechnic Iresi, a private but thriving Polytechnic in Osun State welcomed a new Rector to the institution on 4th of October 2021. It could be recalled that in February this year, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) granted full accreditation to all the courses being offered in the Polytechnic and the board showered encomium on the institution for meeting up to the standard. The Polytechnic Iresi being a private institution was equated with Federal Polytechnics.

The Ag. Rector, Engr. Dr. Kamoru Oluwatoyin Kadiri FNSE, a renaissance man resumed the office of the Rector on 4th October, 2021. Engr. Dr. Kadiri is a renowned and erudite scholar of National and International repute who had his West African Examination Certificate (WAEC) in 1985 after which he proceeded to the Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State where he had his National Diploma (ND) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering between 1986 and 1988.

Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru, widely known and called “KK” by friends and associates also attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State for his first degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering where he graduated in 1995. Apart from his Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Computer Science, “KK” has three Master Degrees to his credit; Master in Business Administration from Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti in 2000, Master in Industrial and Labour Relations from University of Ilorin in 2007 and Master of Computer Science (Networking and Telecommunication) from Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State in 2012, after which he possessed his Doctor of  Philosophy (Ph.D) in Computer Science (Networking and Telecommunication) also from Babcock University in 2016.

As a researcher, Engr. Dr. “KK” belongs to several professional bodies and associations in Nigeria and abroad. He is a Fellow of the Nigeria Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, (FNIEEE), Fellow of Nigeria Society of Engineers (FNSE), and Fellow of Institute of Data Processing Management of Nigeria (FIDPMN).

Engr. Kadiri is also a member of International Association of Engineers (IAENG), IAENG Society of Artificial Intelligence, IAENG Society of Electrical Engineers, IAENG Society of Wireless Networks and Nigeria Institution of Engineering Management. He is as well an associate member of Nigeria Institution of Management (NIM) and a Registered Engineer of the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). In addition, Engr. Kadiri is a liaison officer in Kwara State to the Institution of Data Processing Management of Nigeria (IDPMN).

Until his appointment as the Ag. Rector of the Polytechnic Iresi, the polymathic giant, “KK” was the pioneer Director of Affiliate Degree Programmes and Industrial Collaboration, Federal Polytechnic, Offa and a former HOD, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He is also a former Ag. Dean, School of Engineering and Applied Science, Living Spring College of Technology and Innovation Osogbo, Osun state.

The Osogbo born engineer who started his lecturing career at Federal Polytechnic Offa in 1996 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose to the level of Chief lecturer in 2016 was also at some time the PRO, Secretary and Chairman at the zonal level of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic, Offa Chapter. He has also received several distinctive honorary/merit awards as a result of his endless dedication and contributions towards academic development and humanity at large.

As a versatile researcher, Engr. Dr. Kamoru, FNSE has authored over 23 textbooks majorly in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. In addition to this, he possesses more than 117 publications of both National and International standards to his credit and has served as a lead paper presenter in many conferences and workshops.

“KK” was appointed as a Senior Lecturer and later offered an Associate Professor at the Kampala International University, Uganda, and after the rigorous interview which he declined. The University sponsored his trip with the return ticket, free accommodation and allowances. He is an instructional, facilitator and project supervisor at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and as well Senior Lecturer at the Federal University of Technology, Minna in affiliation with Federal Polytechnic Offa. These without an iota of doubt makes him a fit, in both Polytechnic and University system of education at National and International levels.

Lastly, the Federal Government of Nigeria recently approved his patented invention on 7th September, 2021 which is on detection of Nigeria currency denomination using neutral network, the first of its kind in the banking industry with certificate number RP/NG/P/2020/79.
